This glue is one of the secrets of European guitar making. This liquid glue is similar to traditional hide glue and just as strong. The only difference is that it comes as a ready-to-use liquid. This glue also has the added advantage over white glues in that joins can be reglued like hide glue with heating and steam. Don't be mistaken this is not like the pre-mixed liquid hide glues available, it is much stronger and dries quicker, just like real hide glue.

Fish glue lasts in the bottle for around 1 year at room temprature, longer in colder climates, discard once the odour of the glue has changed.

Fish glue has a longer gel time than Titebond, this can be handy for some jobs. The glue should not be used in high humidity or temperatures. Drying time is around 2 hours for most joins but large joins should be given plenty of time to cure, up to 24 hours.
