In the early years 0.02 mf (or 0.022 mf) capacitors were commonly used on guitars with humbucker pickups and 0.05 mf (or 0.047 mf) weres seen on guitars with single coil pickups. In recent years this convention has changed and manufactures such as Seymour Duncan are recommending the use of 0.05 mf (or 0.047 mf) for humbuckers and 0.02 mf (or 0.022 mf) for single coils.
